Primary SEN Teacher at Silver Linings School

​

We specialise in providing a unique educational journey for children with complex needs due to encountering adverse childhood experiences utilising a therapeutic approach based on the principles of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and PACE.

​

We are searching for a team of dedicated, like minded individuals to be part of this new school and to help build on our values and vision for both the young people and the team.

​

Our teachers will be responsible for a class of 5 children with additional support on average 3 teaching assistants, to allow delivery of the curriculum in a flexible and creative manner, with the aim of renewing emotional trust in education and removing the barriers to learning.

​

We are now searching for Teachers to join our team and we will consider ECT or qualified Teachers, depending on experience.

​

Our Teachers will:

​

  • deliver lessons across the curriculum and supporting the needs of the school on a day to day basis.

  • create and apply specific teaching techniques and produce activities that are specific to each student’s abilities and needs.

  • plan schemes of work and carry out assessments to evidence pupil progress over time.

  • set out measurable and specific goals for the child to attain, based on the information that they get from the parents and other professionals.

  • Work with children 1:1 or delivering sessions with small groups of students.

  • monitor the welfare of pupils and adhere to all safeguarding procedures promoted by the school.

  • Be resilient, forward thinking and adaptable.

  • Take children on educational trips and visits.

  • Have lunch with children who struggle socially.

  • Keep children safe when they are experiencing heightened behaviours with strong behaviour management skills and excellent communication.

  • Create, play and teach games to pupils to develop their social skills or further their learning.

  • Celebrate success.

  • Participate in therapeutic training sessions or reflecting on difficult periods.

Qualifications and experience:

​

-Teaching Qualification (ECT will be considered)

- Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs and past trauma.

- Knowledge of early childhood development
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively educate and engage students in learning activities
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow directions from the lead teacher
